I’m confused, now the DA is saying that since Elissa Wall was 14 and Allen Steed was more than 3 years older, then Allen Steed raped her even if Elissa was willing. Well, then Allen’s conviction should have been a no-brainer. I heard that the jury was given instructions that with respect to the charge of rape, Elissa could consent. So what gives?

    Waste of taxpayers money……

Nothing can be done to change what has happened in the past. The victim has moved on. Locking up Warren Jeffs is not going to change the beliefs of a culture.

I can guarantee that the more this culture is pushed the more secretive it will become. The state is working against itself. This whole ordeal is a COMPLETE waste of taxpayers time and money.

The victim has “moved on”? The victim is ready and willing to participate in a retrial. She is, by her own words, still invested in this. Where do you get that she has “moved on”?

And this whole ordeal hasn’t been a complete waste of taxpayers time and money for those girls who have been spared underage marriage and childbirth because of it.
